The Learning Lunch idea sheet

What is a "Learning Lunch"? The Learning Lunch is a learning concept. In the first pdf file are the main features of the learning concept. In the second pdf-file the function of virtual "pin-on-pins" is explained. These "pin-on-pins" are used in the learning platform Moodle. 
The two pdf documents are excerpts from "Training Aids for Professional Development of Workplace Learning Approaches." The partnerships will publish the results shortly (available in English only).

 

PROGRESS REPORT

The partnership publishes its interim report on new and creative training materials for trainers in the field of vocational education, general education, professional life, social partners and public administration.
This report will be updated during the InnoTrain project. 

The organisations publish the "practical guide on monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance in WBL for professionals".

The organizations have prepared a practical guide. This guide is about the challenges of the project. These challenges have been recognized by the partners as lacking and critical. They asked themselves different questions, such as "how does the assurance of the quality of workplace learning work from the beginning to the evaluation?".
 

 

InnoTrain Newsletter #2 // July 2020

InnoTrain is a European project partnership. The partners of the project come from the countries Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain and Greece. The partnership aims to promote learning in a professional environment. It does so by supporting staff in schools for vocational training and in companies.
Within the framework of the project, the second meeting of the project partners has taken place in June 2019 in Berlin. The third project meeting has taken place in Italy in September 2019. At the same time, several training activities took place.
During the meetings, various topics were discussed. Important was the progress of the project so far. The participants had the opportunity to be informed about various topics. These included, for example, the spread of technical professions and the systems of vocational training in Germany and Italy.
The aim of the meeting in Germany was to exchange experiences between the participants. Technological services and digital data processing were also discussed. These are elements of the fourth industrial revolution. The discussion focused on the further development of these elements. They are also examples of possible renewals in areas of the economy. 
The participants also visited the Technical University in Berlin. There they were able to experience how learning can be fun. They tried out tablets and virtual reality glasses. These tools can be used to better convey learning content.
In Italy, the participants were informed about the traditional and technical professions in the area. The focus was on professions in fashion and food production. The focus was on opportunities for young people in companies. By developing their technologies, the industries became very important for the economy in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. 
The participants also visited the company E-ON. It uses the virtual reality system in their training. They were able to get a good insight into the system. In addition, they went to the University Carpigiani Gelato. During the trips, they were able to learn about the success story of the education system in Italy.
Lastly, the participants visited the Fashion Research Institute (FRI). There they were informed about the transformation of Italian fashion through redesign and education.
The Greek partners introduced the participants to technical education in their country. This training could be implemented based on European projects. They collaborated with organizations and schools from Greece.

InnoTrain Newsletter #1 // May 2019

Several project partners are working together on InnoTrain. Their goal is to promote workplace learning in all its forms. For this purpose, the professional development of teaching and training staff in vocational education and training is supported. 
Vocational education is the first choice for designing and implementing workplace learning. It is also called work-based learning and abbreviated as WBL. 
Workplace learning is about building knowledge and skills in a vocational setting. This means the workplace or a vocational training facility. Knowledge can be expanded by performing tasks.
Key stakeholders in this project should be supported to strengthen their collaborations with other organizations. Then the gap between education and labor market can be closed. 
During the InnoTrain project, interested groups from Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain and Greece will explore common approaches. The approaches can serve a sustainable development and the strengthening of partnerships in the field of vocational training. Measures will be developed for this purpose. Through these measures, there should be more opportunities for professionals in vocational education. The professionals should be able to create a very good element for workplace learning in training and partnership development. 
The main target groups include professionals in vocational training and education, companies, social partners, local institutions and youth associations. Thus, the project addresses, among others, teachers and tutors, companies interested in workplace learning, local and European institutions and professionals from outside. 
Within the framework of the project, the partners will develop plans for improving the professional skills of people who work practically. These plans should be able to be used in everyday educational work. 
On the other hand, the project partners want to develop methods for cooperation in vocational education and business. Local people in particular are to participate in the methods.
In addition to the first transnational partner meeting, the first training for experts from the participating organizations took place in Vienna in February 2019. The first training was about finding out the strengths and weaknesses of workplace learning. In addition, new training programs were to be developed. The programs should be able to be used by experts independently of projects.
The next training has taken place in June 2019 in Berlin.
